2021 CAMPAIGN UPDATE
MARSHFIELD, October 25, 2021 — Marshfield Area United Way’s annual fundraising campaign is currently at thirty-one percent of the community goal of $800,000. For the past couple of months Campaign Drive Chairs, Dan and Shauna Dargenio, along with United Way Executive Director, Ashley Winch, have been out in the community visiting numerous businesses to discuss United Way’s work in the community.
As a community member, it is important to see the community thrive. When giving to Marshfield Area United Way there is a significant impact being made in the quality of life for thousands of individuals. Donations to United Way are local, accountable, and effective. Funds raised in the Marshfield community stay here, helping people of all ages and from all walks of life.
“The needs around housing/homelessness and mental health in our community have increased at an alarming rate,” said Winch. “Additionally, our enrollment in our Nutrition on Weekends program is up 20% so far this year, currently helping 429 children every week. Support from the community is vital to having resources available to help when our children, friends, family, neighbors and co-workers need it most.”
Funds raised during the campaign will be distributed in 2022 to United Way partner programs and initiatives right here in the Marshfield area. Last year, these programs were able to help nearly 10,000 individuals in Marshfield Area United Way’s service area encompassing the following communities: Marshfield, Auburndale, Granton, Greenwood, Loyal, Pittsville, Neillsville, Spencer, and Stratford. Every dollar given to United Way makes an impact helping provide things, such as: food, shelter, warm clothes, mentoring and counseling for children, resources for parents, and safety for families living in violence.
“There is no donation too small. Every little bit counts and will help make our community stronger. Our community has always been there for one another when it’s needed most. This year is one of those moments. Please show your love for our community through your donation to United Way, “stated Dan Dargenio, United Way Drive Chair.
Tax-deductible contributions to this year’s United Way campaign can be mailed to United Way at PO Box 771, Marshfield, WI, 54449, or dropped off at the United Way office at 612 W Blodgett Street.
